Family & Child Health Services in Lane County supports people who are pregnant or caring for a new baby, from pregnancy through about 10 weeks after birth. Families can meet with a nurse or family support specialist at home or in another comfortable place. Staff help answer questions, support the baby’s health and growth, and guide early parenting. They also help families find resources such as health care, diapers, and support for school or work. The program helps make things feel more manageable and builds confidence in caring for a child and family. Our programs include Our programs include Nurse-Family Partnership, Healthy Families Oregon, and Family Connects Oregon.

Family & Child Health Services supports people during pregnancy and the early weeks after birth. Through programs like Nurse-Family Partnership and Healthy Families Oregon, families are connected with a nurse or family support specialist who provides guidance for a healthy pregnancy, early parenting support, and help preparing for life with a new baby.

Home Visiting

Families receive support through in-home visits or meetings in a comfortable place of their choice. Nurses and family support specialists provide personalized guidance, answer questions, and offer support tailored to each family’s needs during pregnancy and the early postpartum period.

Parent Coaching

Family support specialists help parents and caregivers build confidence and skills in early parenting. Support may include parenting education, stress management, and guidance for adjusting to life with a new baby while caring for the whole family.

Health Services

Nurses provide health-focused support for parents and newborns, including baby weight checks, feeding and lactation support, and guidance on newborn care. These services help monitor early growth and support healthy development during the first weeks of life.

Fern Ridge Family Resource Center

What This Organization Does

The Fern Ridge Family Resource Center supports families with parenting education groups, activities for kids, support accessing helpful resources. They offer free diapers and pull-ups in partnership with the Lane County Diaper Bank, free clothes ranging from birth to teens, free baby items, lactation support and supplies, parenting book lending library, and connections to local resources and services. Their goal is to help families feel welcomed, supported, and confident.

Parenting Coaching

The Fern Ridge Family Resource Center offers parenting education groups, activities for children, and a parenting book lending library. These services help parents and caregivers build skills, learn together, and feel more confident in supporting their children’s growth and development.

Love.Our.Mothers – All Family Doula Care provides personalized support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early weeks after a baby arrives. Doulas offer education, emotional support, comfort measures, birth preparation, and practical guidance to help families feel informed, confident, and supported before, during, and after birth.

OHP Covered Services

Birth doula support and postpartum doula support are covered by the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) for eligible families. Lactation support is also available for current Love.Our.Mothers birth doula clients.

Other Services

Love.Our.Mothers also provides compassionate support for families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss, adoption, surrogacy, abortion, and other complex family journeys. Placenta encapsulation services are also available.

Nurturely

What This Organization Does

Nurturely supports expectant and new parents, infants, and caregivers through education, support, and community connection. The organization focuses on helping families have healthy starts and works to reduce health gaps for parents and infants. Nurturely offers support around pregnancy, birth, early infant care, lactation, and postpartum care. Services include one-on-one lactation support, virtual lactation education, family preparedness education, and programs that help families feel connected, supported, and included. They also offer nature walks that include climate resiliency and wildfire preparedness, dance and body movement classes that support infant bonding and care, and cultural story times for families.
