Free and Fun Ways to Fall in Love with Reading at Home
- Read for 20 minutes every day at the same time to build a routine.
- Read everywhere — books, signs, menus, and packages all count!
- Read out loud to family, pets, or even stuffed animals to build confidence.
- Limit screen time so there's more time for stories and books.
- Create a cozy reading corner with soft pillows, good light, and a box of favorite books.
- Take books with you on car rides, to appointments, or while running errands.
- Read while waiting — turn extra minutes into reading time.
- Ask questions while reading to spark curiosity and help your child understand the story.
