Parenting through Change (PTC) group

Build hope, confidence, and effective parenting skills in this hands-on, engaging group for parents and caregivers. Each week, group leaders introduce practical strategies to help you manage your child’s behaviors and strengthen your parenting practices. The program is designed for biological or adoptive parents of children who would benefit from extra support, giving you tools and approaches you can use at home to guide your child’s growth and build stronger family connections.

Little Jellies Parent Support and Play Group

Connect with other parents and caregivers of children birth through two years in this weekly support and play group. While your infants and toddlers explore and play in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate space, you’ll have the chance to build connections and grow your support network. Refreshments are provided for both children and adults, making it a welcoming space to share, learn, and enjoy time together.

Circle of Security

Build a stronger, more secure relationship with your child through interactive sessions designed for parents and caregivers. You’ll learn to understand your child’s emotional needs, notice behavioral cues, and respond in ways that promote trust, confidence, and emotional security. The class also offers practical strategies for managing challenging behaviors, fostering healthy attachment, and nurturing positive parent-child connections. Sessions provide opportunities to share experiences, practice new skills, and receive guidance from trained facilitators.

Nurturing Parenting

This program is designed for parents and caregivers of children age 0-5 years. The goal is to increase parenting skills and promote healthy family life. Classes provide information and practical experience on several important topics, including effective communication, establishing routines, positive discipline, and self nurturing.

Collaborative Problem Solving®

In this free 8-week Collaborative Problem Solving® class, you’ll learn practical tools to strengthen relationships, reduce conflict, and better understand challenging behaviors. You’ll build problem-solving, communication, and emotional regulation skills that can help make everyday life at home and school feel more manageable. The class is designed to support parents and caregivers in creating positive, lasting changes for their families.

Collaborative Problem Solving®

In this free 8-week Collaborative Problem Solving® class, you’ll learn practical tools to strengthen relationships, reduce conflict, and better understand challenging behaviors. You’ll build problem-solving, communication, and emotional regulation skills that can help make everyday life at home and school feel more manageable. Families Connected Parent Coffee Meet Up

Join other parents and caregivers for a relaxed, welcoming gathering. You can enjoy a warm drink, share stories, swap helpful resources, and connect with people who understand the disability journey. These casual meetups focus on support, encouragement, and building connections with others who truly get what you’re going through.

PCIT Toddler Informed Workshop

This workshop is designed to help families learn foundational PCIT-Toddler skills that support the development of a more positive, nurturing, and connected relationship with their child. Families will also gain a better understanding of the developing toddler brain, the impact of trauma on young children, and practical strategies for supporting toddlers as they navigate those BIG feelings that can sometimes feel overwhelming. 0-3yrs

The Arc of Lane County

What This Organization Does

The Arc of Lane County supports parents and caregivers raising a child with a disability. They offer family support, connection to other families, and skill-building programs to help caregivers feel supported and better navigate daily challenges. Programs also include inclusive preschool and youth learning opportunities that support development and participation.

Families Connected / Familias y Conexión (No Eligiblity Requirement)

Families Connected is a parent-led program for families raising a child from birth to age 18 with a developmental disability. Parents and caregivers receive one-on-one support from trained peer navigators who have lived experience raising a child with a disability. Families can receive guidance, connect with resources, learn new skills, and build confidence while navigating services and supporting their child. The program also offers family events, educational opportunities, and advocacy to help families feel connected and supported.

Community Connectors (Must be DDS Services Eligible)

Community Connectors provides personalized one-on-one support for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. Participants are matched with trained Direct Support Professionals who help build daily living skills, increase independence, and encourage participation at home and in the community. Staff work closely with families to find the right support based on each person’s goals, strengths, and needs.

The CARES Center (No Eligiblity Requirement)

The CARES Center provides food, clothing, toiletries and home goods to people who experience a disability, families who have a child with a disability, and other people in need within the greater community.
Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Delivery: Available for those with transportation/disability barriers

Parent Coaching

Parents and caregivers raising a child with a developmental disability receive one-on-one support, guidance, and encouragement from other parents with shared experience. Parent coaching helps families navigate services, build confidence, connect with resources, and manage the everyday challenges of raising a child with a disability.

Home Visiting

The Arc of Lane County provides one-on-one support through Community Connectors, who work with children, youth, and adults in the home and community. These services focus on skill building, independence, and inclusion in everyday life.
