What This Organization Does

The Arc of Lane County supports parents and caregivers raising a child with a disability. They offer family support, connection to other families, and skill-building programs to help caregivers feel supported and better navigate daily challenges. Programs also include inclusive preschool and youth learning opportunities that support development and participation.

Families Connected / Familias y Conexión (No Eligiblity Requirement)

Families Connected is a parent-led program for families raising a child from birth to age 18 with a developmental disability. Parents and caregivers receive one-on-one support from trained peer navigators who have lived experience raising a child with a disability. Families can receive guidance, connect with resources, learn new skills, and build confidence while navigating services and supporting their child. The program also offers family events, educational opportunities, and advocacy to help families feel connected and supported.

Community Connectors (Must be DDS Services Eligible)

Community Connectors provides personalized one-on-one support for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. Participants are matched with trained Direct Support Professionals who help build daily living skills, increase independence, and encourage participation at home and in the community. Staff work closely with families to find the right support based on each person’s goals, strengths, and needs.

The CARES Center (No Eligiblity Requirement)

The CARES Center provides food, clothing, toiletries and home goods to people who experience a disability, families who have a child with a disability, and other people in need within the greater community.
Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Delivery: Available for those with transportation/disability barriers

Parent Coaching

Parents and caregivers raising a child with a developmental disability receive one-on-one support, guidance, and encouragement from other parents with shared experience. Parent coaching helps families navigate services, build confidence, connect with resources, and manage the everyday challenges of raising a child with a disability.

Home Visiting

The Arc of Lane County provides one-on-one support through Community Connectors, who work with children, youth, and adults in the home and community. These services focus on skill building, independence, and inclusion in everyday life.
