Parenting Now

What This Organization Does

Parenting Now offers a variety of evidence-informed services that support families in building strong, positive parent-child relationships. These services include parenting groups, discussion groups, parent coaching, seminars, and home visiting, each designed to promote parental confidence, reduce family stress, and support child development.

Home Visiting

Parenting Now provides home visiting services that support parents and caregivers in building strong, positive relationships with their children. Staff meet with families in their homes to offer guidance, encouragement, and support for child development and family well-being.

Parent Coaching

Parenting Now offers parenting groups, discussion groups, parent coaching, and seminars that help parents and caregivers build skills, increase confidence, and reduce family stress. These services support healthy child development and strengthen parent-child relationships.

The Arc of Lane County

What This Organization Does

The Arc of Lane County supports parents and caregivers raising a child with a disability. They offer family support, connection to other families, and skill-building programs to help caregivers feel supported and better navigate daily challenges. Programs also include inclusive preschool and youth learning opportunities that support development and participation.

Families Connected / Familias y Conexión (No Eligiblity Requirement)

Families Connected is a parent-led program for families raising a child from birth to age 18 with a developmental disability. Parents and caregivers receive one-on-one support from trained peer navigators who have lived experience raising a child with a disability. Families can receive guidance, connect with resources, learn new skills, and build confidence while navigating services and supporting their child. The program also offers family events, educational opportunities, and advocacy to help families feel connected and supported.

Community Connectors (Must be DDS Services Eligible)

Community Connectors provides personalized one-on-one support for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. Participants are matched with trained Direct Support Professionals who help build daily living skills, increase independence, and encourage participation at home and in the community. Staff work closely with families to find the right support based on each person’s goals, strengths, and needs.

The CARES Center (No Eligiblity Requirement)

The CARES Center provides food, clothing, toiletries and home goods to people who experience a disability, families who have a child with a disability, and other people in need within the greater community.
Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Delivery: Available for those with transportation/disability barriers

Parent Coaching

Parents and caregivers raising a child with a developmental disability receive one-on-one support, guidance, and encouragement from other parents with shared experience. Parent coaching helps families navigate services, build confidence, connect with resources, and manage the everyday challenges of raising a child with a disability.

Home Visiting

The Arc of Lane County provides one-on-one support through Community Connectors, who work with children, youth, and adults in the home and community. These services focus on skill building, independence, and inclusion in everyday life.

Pearl Buck Center

What This Organization Does

Pearl Buck Center supports families with young children of various abilities through connection‑focused playgroups, toddler learning, and home‑visiting support, helping parents and caregivers feel encouraged, confident, and not alone.

Home Visiting

Pearl Buck Center provides home visiting support for families with young children of various abilities. Staff meet with parents and caregivers in the home to offer encouragement, guidance, and support for early childhood development.

Parent Coaching

Pearl Buck Center offers connection-focused playgroups and toddler learning opportunities that help parents and caregivers build confidence, strengthen relationships, and feel supported. These programs create space for families to learn and connect with others.

Avocado Doulas

What This Organization Does

Avocado Doulas supports families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. During pregnancy, doulas provide education, birth preparation, emotional support, and practical guidance to help families understand their options and prepare for labor, birth, and the transition into parenthood. During labor and birth, doulas offer continuous emotional support, comfort measures, encouragement, and advocacy to help families feel informed, confident, and supported throughout the birth experience. After a baby arrives, doulas continue to support families with postpartum recovery, newborn care, infant feeding support, overnight care, parenting guidance, and practical help with daily routines as families adjust to life with a new baby.

Services Offered

Avocado Doulas offers birth and postpartum doula support, childbirth education, grandparents classes, placenta encapsulation, and other educational services to help families prepare for and adjust to life with a new baby. Services are available for families with many different experiences, including first-time parents, growing families, adoption, surrogacy, fertility journeys, and high-risk pregnancies. Avocado Doulas also welcomes and supports Spanish-speaking families, LGBTQIA+ families, and neurodivergent clients.

Pleasant Hill Family Resource Center

What This Organization Does

The Pleasant Hill Family Resource Center supports parents and caregivers with parenting education, early learning support, and opportunities to connect with other families. The center connects families to local resources and, when available, provides basic supplies like diapers, clothing, and food. Staff also help families understand the school system and find community services, helping them feel informed and confident.

Riverview Center for Growth

What This Organization Does

Riverview Center for Growth provides mental health and behavioral health services for children, youth, and families. Their programs include outpatient counseling, mental health assessments, in-home behavioral health support, peer support, and day treatment classrooms. They also offer parent and caregiver education, including Collaborative Problem Solving, to help families build stronger relationships and manage challenging behaviors.

Mental/Behavioral Health

Riverview Center for Growth provides mental health and behavioral health services for children, youth, and families. Services include outpatient counseling, mental health assessments, peer support, and day treatment classrooms to support emotional and behavioral well-being.

Home Visiting

Riverview Center for Growth offers in-home behavioral health support for families. Staff work directly with children and caregivers in the home to support daily routines, reduce stress, and build healthier family interactions.

Early Childhood Cares (EC CARES)

What This Organization Does

Early Childhood CARES provides early intervention and early childhood special education services for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children with developmental delays or disabilities. Services are tailored to each child’s unique needs and may include support from specialists in early childhood education, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Parents and caregivers are active partners in planning and supporting their child’s growth and development.

Eugene Birth & Family

What This Organization Does

Eugene Birth & Family Doula supports families during pregnancy, birth, and after a baby arrives. They connect families with doulas and offer birthing and lactation classes, parent support, and feeding guidance for new babies. Their services help families feel supported, informed, and cared for during this important time.

Pregnancy & Birth Support

Eugene Birth & Family Doula supports families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period by connecting them with doulas and providing guidance throughout the birthing journey. They offer birthing classes, lactation support, and feeding guidance for newborns. These services help families feel informed, supported, and cared for as they prepare for and adjust to life with a new baby.

Family and Child Health

What This Organization Does

Family & Child Health Services in Lane County supports people who are pregnant or caring for a new baby, from pregnancy through about 10 weeks after birth. Families can meet with a nurse or family support specialist at home or in another comfortable place. Staff help answer questions, support the baby’s health and growth, and guide early parenting. They also help families find resources such as health care, diapers, and support for school or work. The program helps make things feel more manageable and builds confidence in caring for a child and family. Our programs include Our programs include Nurse-Family Partnership, Healthy Families Oregon, and Family Connects Oregon.

Pregnancy & Birth Support

Family & Child Health Services supports people during pregnancy and the early weeks after birth. Through programs like Nurse-Family Partnership and Healthy Families Oregon, families are connected with a nurse or family support specialist who provides guidance for a healthy pregnancy, early parenting support, and help preparing for life with a new baby.

Home Visiting

Families receive support through in-home visits or meetings in a comfortable place of their choice. Nurses and family support specialists provide personalized guidance, answer questions, and offer support tailored to each family’s needs during pregnancy and the early postpartum period.

Parent Coaching

Family support specialists help parents and caregivers build confidence and skills in early parenting. Support may include parenting education, stress management, and guidance for adjusting to life with a new baby while caring for the whole family.

Health Services

Nurses provide health-focused support for parents and newborns, including baby weight checks, feeding and lactation support, and guidance on newborn care. These services help monitor early growth and support healthy development during the first weeks of life.
