Governance & Advisory
How We’re Governed
The Early Childhood Hub of Lane County is guided by a Governance Council, our main decision-making body. Three advisory groups also support this work: the Family Leadership Council, the Stakeholders group, and the Pediatric Advisory Council. Together with the Child Care Sector Strategist, these groups bring lived experience and professional knowledge to help shape and strengthen our work across the region.

Governance Council
The Governance Council provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County. It is composed of members from the following key sectors: early learning and care, K-12 public education, health and human services, housing, business and community leaders, Tribal nations and parents & caregivers.
Hub Stakeholders
The Early Learning Stakeholders group works to strengthen connections between organizations, programs, and community members. Meeting monthly, this group collaborates across systems and sectors to reach children and families throughout Lane County, supporting their development and long-term success.
Monthly Update
In May, we focused on recruiting new co-facilitators, with Gretta Sagolla and Sara Loveless cycling off. We also worked on recruiting new Stakeholder representatives for the Governance Council.
Family Leadership Council
The Family Leadership Council (FLC) gives parents a chance to share their voices in decisions that impact young children and families. Through this group, we listen to the experiences, ideas, and hopes of families like yours. Parent input is used to support the overall development and implementation of our programs that support young children in our community.
The Council is made up of parents or caregivers of a child age 8 or younger in Lane County. Members participate in bilingual monthly meetings.
Monthly Update
In May, we focused on welcoming two new members. We are continuing to build this group through intentional recruitment efforts, including partner and member referrals, tabling outreach, and connecting to families through our Preschool Promise interest list. The Hub will be hosting an Early Childhood Advocacy Training for all FLC members in early June, led by the Children’s Institute.
Pediatric Advisory Council
The Pediatric Advisory Council is a team of Lane County pediatric care providers who work with early learning programs, coordinated care organizations (CCO), and public health agencies. They meet monthly to share health and mental health issues their patients face, set shared goals, and find ways to make a positive difference for young children and their families.
Monthly Update
In May, we focused on the Expedited Assessment Services for Youth (EASY) Initiative and met with John Linn, a Complex Care Innovation Specialist, and Ryann Watson-Stiles, Director, Yellow House Clinic in Lane County. We learned that they have 4 spots per month allocated to Lane County for youth with the most immediate and critical assessment needs.
Child Care Sector Strategist
Holly Mar-Conte is the Child Care Sector Strategist for Lane County. This position works dynamically with business leaders in the community to create innovative solutions that increase access to quality child care in Lane County. The Hub coordinates and collaborates with Holly on an ongoing basis to address child care challenges for families.
