Supporting Lane County Families from the Start
The Early Childhood Hub of Lane County is here to help parents with the joys and challenges of raising a child during the early years. We are a local hub for parenting support and a guide to the community's free and low-cost opportunities for play and learning.
We coordinate enrollment and recruitment for Preschool Promise.
Preschool Promise is a free, high-quality preschool option for kids ages 3 and 4 whose family income falls within 200% of the federal poverty level.
The Hub’s Preschool Promise team coordinates with Quality Care Connections and Head Start to ensure children are enrolled in the preschool that best fits their needs. Our Preschool Promise team is bilingual in Spanish and French, and equipped to serve families of all backgrounds in Lane County.
We organize a list of Lane County organizations who offer free or low-cost services, supplies, groups and classes.
Our Parenting Resource Finder brings together information from local partners—parenting programs, libraries, health services, and family support organizations—so families can find what they need in one place. We keep this list up to date so caregivers don’t have to search multiple places for support. Our goal is to make sure all Lane County families can access early learning, developmental support, and community resources. This supports our mission to help every child grow up healthy, stable, and ready for kindergarten.
We support kindergarten readiness through the Kids in Transition to School program.
The Kids in Transition to School (KITS) program uses a fun, research-based curriculum to help children and their families build the skills they need for a confident, successful start to kindergarten.
We offer literacy programs and provide resources to excite young readers.
To support parents and caregivers with their child’s literacy development, the Hub provides interactive videos for parents to learn how to read to their infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. Additionally, we support early literacy professional development across Lane County.
We fund Family Resource Centers in school districts across Lane County.
Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are welcoming community spaces where families can find support, connection, and other programs for families with children ages 0-6.
The Hub connects Family Resource Centers to resource-sharing, professional development, and community building.
We fund parenting education and parenting support programming.
The Hub funds parenting education programs that cover a wide range of needs, from workshops and support groups to skill-building classes for families with children ages 0-17.
